Historic Western Auto Building - Kansas City, Missouri

Source: Historic Western Auto Building

Built between 1914 and 1915 this building was once known as the Coca-Cola Building or the Candler Building, it later was the headquarters of the Western Auto Supply Co. As you see, the lighted sign still tops the building.  The building and its sign are visible from much of the Crossroads and the surrounding neighborhoods, as well as seen visible on Interstate 35. It is now a city landmark.

The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988 and is now a loft condominium.

HDR

HDR is another way of bringing life to a photo with beautiful bold color. For those of you who aren't familiar with HDR, it stands for "High Dynamic Range" photography. A fun way to get inspired is to pull out your old dull photos and begin to make magic by bringing life back into them with a touch of HDR. Although the number of images required to pull off a great HDR effect can range from two and up, it is possible to pull some great effects off a single image and still present a beautiful quality photo.

There are many types of software programs out there to choose from. I myself use Photomatix.

So go out and have fun with it. You'll be pleasantly surprised with the result.

Corner Market - General Store

Corner Market General Store

These small General Stores carry a broad selection of merchandise. It reminds me of a little store when I was a kid growing up where I bought all of my candy supplies I couldn't find anywhere else. Folks from the town and surrounding rural areas came to purchase all their general goods. These differed from your regular convenient stores back in a day as it was their main shop.If your interested in purchasing a post card or print, just click on the link under the photo.
